New Family of PAN Based Carbon Fibers BACKGROUND
Carbon fiber usage continues to grow in all market sectors and by 2010 it is expected to top 45,000 metric tons per year. Over the next 5 years the industrial sector offers the largest potential growth and Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd recognizes the need to develop new carbon fibers to meet this demand.
We have therefore developed a NEW FAMILY OF PAN BASED CARBON FIBERS which offer enhanced processability with properties which are specifically targeted into large composite parts such as wind turbine blades, automotive parts and pressure vessels.
Currently this family includes • Pyrofil P330 Series (TRH 50 60k and TR 50S 60k)
• TRH 50 18k
• TR 50S 6k New fibers will be added to meet market demands.
