New Family of PAN Based Carbon Fibers BACKGROUND
Carbon fiber usage continues to grow in all market sectors. However, over the next 5 years we expect the industrial sector will offer the largest potential growth and Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd recognizes the need to develop new carbon fibers to meet this demand. We have therefore developed a NEW FAMILY OF PAN BASED CARBON FIBERS, the P330 Series which are specifically targeted into large composite parts such as wind turbine blades, automotive parts and pressure vessels.
The P 330 Series fibers offer a high tow count but with small tow processability and physical properties and currently include the following fibers:
• TRH 50 18k
• TRH 50 30k
• TRH 50 60k
New fibers will be added to meet market demands.
