1982 Hysol
Grafil CF established. (50/50 JV Courtaulds and Dexter Corp.)
1984 Sacramento plant start-up. Capacity 800,000 lbs per year.
1988 Courtaulds gains 100% ownership. (Courtaulds Grafil Inc.)
1991 Courtaulds Grafil Inc. purchased by Mitsubishi Rayon
Co., Ltd. and changes name to Grafil Inc.
Capacity 1,000,000 lbs per year.
1992 Sacramento plant modernized to utilize Mitsubishi Rayon
manufactured SAF precursor resulting in substantial quality and productivity increase. Capacity 1,750,000 lbs per year.
1998 Additional productivity increase. Capacity 2,000,000 per year.
2000 Completed ISO 9002 Certification.
2002 Plant capacity expanded to 3,200,000 lbs per year.
2003 Completed transition to ISO 9001:2000 Certification.
2007 Moved US warehouse to a large, state of the art facility; implemented wireless RF technology for all shipping and receiving.
2007 Decision made by MRC to build a new, large production line in Japan with 2,700 tonnes capacity.
2008 Began production in Sacramento of TRH50 60K and other high spec, high quality fibers aimed at volume
production in Japan (2010 / 2011)
2009 Completed transition to the ISO 9001:2008 standard, both in the US and Europe.
2009 Moved UK warehouse to a modern, state of the art facility.
2010 Mitsubishi Rayon Co., Ltd. becomes a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Holding, Co.
